At Terminal Control, we strive to provide excellent service and value to our customers. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be issued for our subscription-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.
By subscribing to Terminal Control, you agree to the refund terms described in this policy. This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service.
2. Subscription Cancellations
You may cancel your Terminal Control subscription at any time through your account settings. Here's what happens when you cancel:
- Immediate Effect: Your cancellation request will be processed immediately upon submission.
- Access Until Period End: You will retain full access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period.
- No Automatic Renewal: Your subscription will not automatically renew after the current period ends.
- Data Retention: Your data will be retained for 30 days after your subscription ends, allowing you time to export your information or resubscribe.
To cancel your subscription, navigate to Settings > Billing > Cancel Subscription in your dashboard, or contact our support team for assistance.
3. Pro-Rated Refunds
Terminal Control offers pro-rated refunds under the following circumstances:
Eligible for Pro-Rated Refund:
- Annual Subscriptions: If you cancel an annual subscription within the first 30 days, you are eligible for a pro-rated refund of the unused portion of your subscription.
- Service Outages: Extended service outages exceeding 24 consecutive hours may qualify for pro-rated credits or refunds at our discretion.
- Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly due to a billing error on our part, you will receive a full refund of the erroneous charges.
- Duplicate Charges: Any duplicate charges will be refunded in full upon verification.
Not Eligible for Pro-Rated Refund:
- Monthly Subscriptions: Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun, as you retain access to all features for the entire paid period.
- Annual Subscriptions After 30 Days: Annual subscriptions cancelled after the 30-day window are not eligible for pro-rated refunds.
- Account Termination for Violations: Accounts terminated due to Terms of Service violations are not eligible for any refunds.
4. Refund Request Process
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
- Submit a Request: Send an email to billing@terminalcontrol.net with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include Required Information:
- Your account email address
- Organization name (if applicable)
- Subscription plan and billing period
- Reason for the refund request
- Any relevant transaction IDs or invoice numbers
- Review Period: Our billing team will review your request within 3-5 business days.
- Decision Notification: You will receive an email notification regarding the outcome of your refund request.
- Refund Processing: Approved refunds are typically processed within 5-10 business days, depending on your payment method and financial institution.
5. Refund Methods
Refunds will be issued using the original payment method:
- Credit/Debit Cards: Refunds will be credited back to the original card. Processing time is typically 5-10 business days.
- Bank Transfers: Refunds via bank transfer may take up to 10-14 business days to appear in your account.
- Account Credits: In some cases, we may offer account credits that can be applied to future billing cycles as an alternative to monetary refunds.
All refunds are processed through Stripe, our payment processor. For questions about refund timing, please refer to Stripe's payment terms.
6. Plan Changes and Downgrades
If you change your subscription plan, the following applies:
- Upgrades: When upgrading to a higher-tier plan, you will be charged the pro-rated difference for the remainder of your billing cycle.
- Downgrades: When downgrading to a lower-tier plan, the change will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. No refunds are issued for the difference in plan pricing.
- Feature Access: Upon downgrade, features exclusive to higher-tier plans will become unavailable at the start of the next billing cycle.
7. Free Trial Period
Terminal Control may offer free trial periods for new users:
- No Charge During Trial: You will not be charged during the free trial period.
- Cancel Anytime: You may cancel your trial at any time before it ends without being charged.
- Automatic Conversion: If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your account will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged according to the selected plan.
- Trial Eligibility: Free trials are typically available once per organization or email address.
8. Exceptions and Special Circumstances
We may consider refund requests outside of our standard policy under special circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Medical emergencies or documented hardship situations
- Significant and documented platform issues that prevented normal use
- Situations where the service did not perform as advertised
These exceptions are granted at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis. To request an exception, please contact our support team with detailed documentation supporting your request.
9. Chargebacks
Before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly to resolve any billing concerns:
- Chargebacks result in additional fees for both parties and can complicate resolution.
- We are committed to resolving billing disputes fairly and promptly.
- Accounts with pending chargebacks may be suspended until the dispute is resolved.
